WRITTEN BY GUSTAVO SCAT.

In the modern world, there are various sexual fantasies and fetishes that, although common, generate a great deal of controversy and debate. One of them is scat. For those who don’t know, scat is the term used to describe a fetish involving sex with feces, urine, flatulence, and other possible excretions.

Gustavo Scat is turned on by poop; he was born in 1994, is bisexual, and lives in São Paulo (Brazil). He became known on the internet as the author of the book "I Want Scat - Sex with poop, piss and farts".

“To me, scat is intimacy. Doing it during sex is like receiving a gift, and it's a delight. Literally, something that came from inside the other person—something they produced just for me. The freedom to have sex without worrying about the mess is almost a bit transgressive.”

**What was your process of accepting your own desire like? Did you ever struggle with it at any point?

I went through a long process of self-acceptance. I used to wonder if I was doing something wrong or something like that. Over time, I realized that I wasn’t hurting anyone and that sex involving feces not only exists but is much more common than people think. I started researching the subject more and discovered a whole new world. Then, in 2017, I decided to create a blog called Quero Scat to try to find people to practice with.

Over the years, my blog became a go-to resource in Brazil, so I dedicated myself to making it the most comprehensive website on the fetish in the country. I started writing about acceptance, which helped me and helped other people as well. Readers would write to me and share their stories and motivations—some very similar to mine, others more focused on the BDSM scene — involving domination, submission, etc. — which isn’t my thing.

**Now that you understand your scat fetish, what was it like for you to find people who enjoyed the same things and to live out your sexuality freely and without judgment?

Finding people is the hard part. Of course, online there are lots of conversations and shared interests, but people disappear, block me… it’s normal. Especially because it’s not easy to share this secret with just anyone — it takes a lot of trust. Ever since I discovered I was a “pig” (that’s what we call people who are into these dirtier fetishes), I’ve been practicing on my own my whole life — of course, taking my time and doing everything at a leisurely pace.

Then I moved to São Paulo on my own — I’d go so far as to say the city is a fetishist’s paradise. With the help of dating apps like Tinder and Grindr (I’m bisexual), I started fulfilling all my dirtiest desires, especially with other guys who were just as into scat as I am. When it comes to living out my sexuality freely, I’ve learned one thing for life: as long as there’s common sense, consent, and it’s within the law, be happy. Repressing myself was never an option for me, and these days I feel great, because this desire is part of who I am — it’s who I am. But I’m not just that, either. I work, I study, I try to live my life as healthily as possible, and I even have a cleaning-related OCD… believe it or not.

**Is there also a lot of hate from people who aren’t part of the scat community and look down on it? If so, has that ever discouraged you? How do you deal with that kind of comment?

Since I’ve dealt with so many haters online — who judge me as “sick” or say even worse things — I was afraid of hearing that from someone I loved. So, I mustered the courage to see a sexologist for the first time to talk about my desires, and it changed my life. He explained to me, in detail, that this is common; he traced my origins, gave me examples, and assured me that there was nothing wrong with me. That gave me the confidence to start telling my closest friends, and to my surprise, they reacted very well.

Even those who suffer from being part of a minority and also deal daily with prejudiced remarks like “You’re sick,” “I don’t accept that,” “God forbid,” and “That’s not from God” say the same things to me. Human beings are crazy… take that however you want. So, I try to just say “screw it” about that and seek out people who try to understand or at least respect me. We just need to try to understand each other better.

**About the book—when did you decide to share information and experiences about scat with others through writing?

I never imagined I’d publish a book. What happened was that after racking up about 4 million views on my blog over nearly five years, it was deleted in 2022. One afternoon, out of the blue, I lost the biggest project of my life, without any warning. I was devastated; I called my friends, spent a few months grieving, and, after managing to recover all the posts, I started thinking of a way to preserve them all without running the same risk. That’s when the idea of publishing a book came up. After a long process of adaptation and professional editing, all my best posts are now in a book bearing the same name as my former blog: "I Want Scat - Sex with poop, piss and farts".

The book has a lot of cool stuff! My background in detail and other experiences that shaped me, along with my entire dialogue with the psychiatrist (since I recorded our entire conversation and transcribed everything), memories, advice and precautions, tips on how to meet people and how to practice scat, interesting articles, my accounts of sexual experiences, interviews with influential men and women in the scene, a wish list and creative ideas (only for those with a strong stomach!), and even the best letters fans have sent me in the form of erotic short stories. This is the first book in Brazil dedicated entirely to this fetish, and I dare say it’s the most comprehensive on the subject in the world.

**How has the public’s feedback been?

In the first week after its release, the book became a meme. On top of that, there have also been positive messages from fans who were really happy to be able to revisit the blog.

One piece of feedback that really caught my attention came from a Brazilian writer with a large following who is well-known on social media for helping others. He wrote to me saying he liked the fetishes and told me he’d never read a book so quickly before. Wow. Getting that kind of response is very rewarding.

**Did you ever plan to come out as Gustavo? Or was the idea always to keep the two separate? Especially since you’re an actor—a public figure, right?

I’m an actor, I never imagined mixing the two. I have my professional career, my work, and I know it’s a very sensitive subject — after all, it’s a very intimate matter.

So I had no intention [of coming out], but I trusted people. I took the risk of trusting certain people to connect with them, especially on the dating app Grindr. I think that’s where the person who exposed me pieced everything together. It was July 2023, and suddenly my life changed forever. Someone revealed my face online without my consent, and from that point on, I came out. And I don’t regret it. So I went viral and made headlines in Brazil and on some news sites around the world. But I don’t discuss the details of how it happened, who was involved, or who was to blame online — only in my book.

**Finally, what advice would you give to people who are into kinkier stuff but don’t accept themselves or are ashamed to live out their desires freely because of what others might think?

Take it slow. Don’t rush. I was lucky to start out that way, but I see that a lot of people who are just starting out want to do everything all at once—and real life is different from porn videos. You don’t have to do everything to be a fetishist. There are plenty of people who enjoy milder things, like just watching videos or watching someone else use the bathroom, peeing while showering with their boyfriend, etc., and that’s totally fine. There are also those who enjoy more advanced things, like eating poop, rubbing it on their bodies, etc.

“Get to know yourself, understand your own limits, do it with someone trustworthy and cool, and things will just flow naturally. Over time, you’ll realize that this is just another way to feel turned on. With common sense, mutual consent, and within the law… Be happy!”

The erotic questions and answers can be found exclusively in the book “I Want Scat”:

** Good foreplay...?

** Describe what poop tastes like.

** Name some creative ideas that turn you on.

** What’s the grossest thing you’d like to do — or have already done?
